Solstice Canyon, Malibu Wedding Portraits | Alicia + Richard
Ever since my own wedding, I’ve been dreaming of photographing weddings. Our photographer was so amazing and inspiring that she propelled me down a path that I didn’t know could exist for me. I found a passion for photography! But it’s difficult to start photographing weddings from the outset. People was to see that you’ve done it before.
Cue the most amazing couple ever. I placed out the word that I needed a couple to take pictures of for my portfolio, and wouldn’t it be great if they had a wedding dress? And Alicia and Richard came to my rescue.
Alicia and Richard were married a couple of months before. But they agreed to add more to their wedding album by posing for bridal portrait pictures with me. The photos in this blog entry are representative of that amazing shoot.
I searched online for a nice park that didn’t require any permits to photograph at. Solstice Canyon popped up in Malibu and I decided to go check it out. Little did I know how GORGEOUS this place is. Yellow flower fields, large magical trees, and the perfect weather translated into some of the best shots I’ve ever taken. I cannot wait to bring more couples back here for engagement photos or more. I hear there is a ruined building farther down that would be amazing to shoot at.
I love the whimsy of these photos. It really feels like a magical wonderland. And the two amazing, beautiful people I was able to photograph make the photos all that more special to me.
