Daily Grateful Journal
I am extremely grateful in my life. And I think one of the most important lessons to learn is: how to integrate gratefulness into your daily affirmations and personality. Without being grateful for what you have, how can you appreciate anything? Appreciation leads to greater things. If you care for what you're appreciative of, you will eventually be given responsibility over even greater things.
Lately, I've been going through at least three things I'm grateful for every morning. It starts the morning in the right mindset and guides my actions for the day. Having a daily meditation on the things you are grateful for can really impact your happiness, health, and life. It doesn't need to be relegated to the one holiday in the year: Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving should be a daily thing. I really feel that taking the time every day to write down what you are grateful for can lead to a more fulfilled life. I keep mine in a moleskin notebook along with my daily journaling notes.
So in that theme, I want to go through three concepts that keep returning to me as the things I am most grateful for.
1. It should be no surprise that my husband is at the top of this list. He is so much to me. My friend, confidant, supporter, counselor, and leader. I will forever be grateful for him. It's amazing that we found each other in a world of so many people. It's so cheesy to say it, but he completes me.
2. I struggle all the time with my day job. And while it's difficult for me to accept working in such an environment, I'm so grateful that I have a job that can afford me the ability to start this photography business. If you don't know, I'm an accountant and spend my day in a cubicle with three other people. It's stressful and soul crushing, but I am so lucky to have something that pays well. It grants me money, health insurance, and stability.
3. Finally, I am so grateful for the beauty of nature. It's nature that keeps me grounded. The outdoors has changed my life at strange and magical junctions when I seemed distraught or helpless. We have been gifted with the most beautiful planet filled with trees, mountains, lakes, and rivers. Any time I'm feeling down, all I have to do is take a hike and my perspective changes.
I hope this post helps you realize that being grateful is the best way to live through life. It's all about perspective. Keep your heart down the right path and everything will seem significant. So write them down and feel free to share. I'd love to hear what you've been grateful for lately.
