5 Best Engagement Locations in Denver

So you're engaged in Denver! Congrats! I love Denver's rustic and natural charm. I think it's one of the best places for engagement photos, and I'm excited to share with you some of my top locations to go for a photography session!

1. Red Rocks

The Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is a popular location for not only engagement photos but also weddings. The event space there is substantial but what really makes this location sing is the breathtaking rocky views. Using these awesome natural elements, you can create some epic engagement photos for your walls at home.

2. Downtown Denver

Denver has an awesome downtown area that can make for a fun urban engagement photography session. Just drive on down and galavant around the streets grabbing a spontaneous photo here and there. There are some awesome architectural elements that really make you see the real Denver.

3. Lookout Mountain

Lookout Mountain Park in Golden, CO is one of those awesome little hikes that affords some spectacular views of the valley. I love this one for engagement photos because you can get intimate in the trees and on the trail, and then get some sweeping vistas.

4. Eldorado Springs

Eldorado Springs and Canyon is a cute town out near Boulder, CO that has some really amazing hikes and walks that lead to some spectacular engagement photos. I love the closeness of the mountains and the adventurous outdoorsy feel of the area.

5. Wash Park or Neighborhood Areas

Another great option for engagement photos in Denver, is to check out your neighborhood parks or shops. These can make a unique and intimate session for the couple who want to stay close to home. If you're struggling with ideas, think about Washington Park as a downtown park area that provides a ton of nooks and crannies to take engagement photos in.

Hopefully, this helps give you some ideas for places to take engagement photos in and around Denver, Colorado. If you have any suggestions, leave them in the comments section below!

New Years Resolutions 2017

It's that time of the year. The time where we make all these promises to ourselves and then promptly forget them. But no really, this year I want to make an effort. I have BIG plans for 2017 and I'm not going to let them go. I turn 30 at the end of the year and I am not about to leave my 20s behind without some pizazz. So here are the New Years Resolutions 2017 for KAT. For me.

1. Figure out how to manage stress

For the past two years I have gone through some debilitating anxiety that has left me with some health issues. Thankfully, I have now destroyed my day job and I'm working for myself. This has helped reduce the stress significantly. But I still need to be able to figure it out for the future.

2. Book some Destination Weddings

Adventure is in the air, and this year is going to be my year. I'm going to push myself out there and get tons of bookings for weddings that require travel. I've done a few before, but it's time to go full on destination and travel marketing.

3. Do a Boudoir Photography Session

I've been dying to step into the boudoir realm. I just haven't been able to find a willing model. So if you're wanting to bring about some body confidence, hit me up! I'm ready to do some intimates.

4. And last but not least: HIKE THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL

This one has been on my heart for a long time. I had my first encounter on the Appalachian Trail, and I've been dreaming of hiking the whole thing for a long time. At the end of this year I made the decision that I will be doing it. It will be the ultimate adventure, the ultimate challenge, and the best thing I could do to finish out my 20s.
